Kenmare Heritage Centre, Kenmare, Kerry runs a seasonal tourist information service.
Kenmare town is a vibrant tourist destination and it’s best to book accommodation and restaurants in advance to avoid disappointment. It’s not uncommon to see groups of forlorn visitors wandering the streets trying to find a good restaurant that isn’t booked out.

A wonderful restaurant on Main Street in Kenmare.
The restaurant is now run by Eddie and Gaelen Malcolmson, formerly of the lovely Linenmill Restaurant in Westport. Westport’s loss is most definitely Kenmare’s gain. It’s an ideal evening venue, the food is superb and the service is outstanding.
The picture is of the beautifully carved half door which depicts an Irish decimal era half penny (or leath phingin in Irish - hence the name).
