Leath Phingin Eile

Leath Phingin

A wonderful restaurant on Main Street in Kenmare.

The restaurant is now run by Eddie and Gaelen Malcolmson, formerly of the lovely Linenmill Restaurant in Westport. Westport’s loss is most definitely Kenmare’s gain. It’s an ideal evening venue, the food is superb and the service is outstanding.

The picture is of the beautifully carved half door which depicts an Irish decimal era half penny (or leath phingin in Irish – hence the name).

PF McCarthy’s is one of the most popular pubs in Kenmare. It’s on Main Street – so you can’t really miss it. McCarthy’s is a warm and welcoming friendly pub which combines a great food menu, with some great live music. It’s popular with locals and visitors alike as it blends the traditional Irish pub with a really nice eatery.
